Education Journalist is glad to Launch India's First Online Proctored Article Writing Competition .

  1. The competition employs advanced online proctoring tools to monitor participants throughout the writing process, ensuring a fair environment for all.
  2. Live supervision is facilitated through multiple technologies to guarantee adherence to the rules.
  3. Please note, only schools are eligible to register and nominate students for participation; individual registrations are not permitted.
  4. Students are divided into three groups:
  • Group A: Class 7 & 8
  • Group B: Class 9 & 10
  • Group C: Class 11 & 12
  • The contest will be run in 7 cities of India, covering almost all the 5 Zones of East, West, North, South & Central .
  • Any school registering out of the given cities will be categories based on the above mentioned 5 Zones.
  • For each Group there will be 3 winners regionally.
  • Regional Winners will qualify for Nationals.
  • There will be a set time during which the article has to be written and submitted.
  • The contest will be monitored online, ensuring integrity through proctoring.
  • Articles must be written within the contest platform and submitted digitally.
  • Word count (max: 800 words)
  • Students are  mandatorily supposed to take the competition from school premises.
  • School to provide all the mandatory requirements for Article Writing Competition.

1. Nomination Period: November 20 to December 20, 2024
2. Contest Dates:
     Group A (Grades 7-8): January 7, 2025
     Group B (Grades 9-10): January 9, 2025
     Group C (Grades 11-12): January 11, 2025
3. Shortlisted Articles: Uploaded on January 14, 2025
4. Online Voting Window: January 14 to January 19, 2025
5. Regional Winner Announcement: January 23, 2025
6. National Competition (for Regional Winners): January 29, 2025
7. Online Voting Window (Shortlisted Articles): January 29 to February 4, 2025
8. National Winner Announcement: February 8, 2025
9. Award Ceremony: February 20, 2025, in Bangalore at Christ University

  • Participants will need a stable internet connection and a device (laptop/desktop preferred) to participate.
  • Must ensure they have uninterrupted access to the contest platform during the competition.
  • Webcam and Audio Input device will be a mandatory requirement.
  • Nomination are only accepted through school registration.
  • Students will be grouped into:

        Group A: Grade 7-8
        Group B: Grade 9-10
        Group C: Grade 11-12

  • It will be school's responsibility to ensure that a student is registered under a right Group.
  • Each group will have different topics which will be declared 10 minutes before the event.
  • Software defined content rating.
  •  Relevance to the Topic: How well does the article address the competition theme?
  • Originality and Creativity: Are the ideas fresh and unique, plagiarized content will be scrapped.
  • Content Quality: Flow of content, understanding, and insights offered.
  • Structure and Flow: Logical progression, well-organized content, introduction, body, and conclusion.
  • Grammar and Language Proficiency: Use of correct grammar, sentence structure, and engaging language.
  • Online voting which will be open for 5 days.
  • All submissions must be original, plagiarism will lead to disqualification.
  • Proctoring will be strict, any suspicious behaviour may result in disqualification.
  • Articles must be completed within the given timeframe and submitted before the deadline.
  • Articles with more than 60% rating will be uploaded for Online Voting.
  • All the points defined in earlier Tabs are to be strictly followed.
  • Judges decision will be considered as final and binding.
  • All participants will receive participation certificates for taking part in the contest.
  • Schools will also receive a certificate, recognizing their participation in the competition.
  • Articles may be featured publicly, providing students with a platform for recognition and exposure.
  • Directors/Principal/Management will be invited for in-studio interview talk which will be published on several channels. 
  • Apart from Recognition and Awards for Regional winners, there will be Awards for other impressive articles. Schools will be informed for the participation.
  • Press and Media coverage.

Each group will receive a different topic which will be disclosed few minutes before the competition start time.

Competition will be online. You will receive a link following which you will land on the editor page where you can type your article.

Yes, there is a entry fee to cover the administrative cost for the entire competition . Please refer to the competition guidelines on our website for details about any entry fees or administrative costs. Our goal is to make the competition accessible while maintaining high standards.

Yes, articles scoring above 60% rating will be published with the name of the writer and school name.

Due to the high volume of entries, we may not be able to provide individual feedback to each participant. However, winning articles and those receiving honorable mentions may receive constructive comments from our judges.

Prizes may include cash rewards, certificates, recognition ,scholarships and additional promotional opportunities. Detailed prize information will be announced at the start of the competition.
